NEWTON FALLS, Ohio – Robert Paul McFarland, 58, of Newton Falls, Ohio passed away suddenly Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 12, 1959 in Warren, Ohio, a son of Raymond E. and Rose (Long) McFarland.
On December 31, 1986 he married Sharon A Strickland.
Robert graduated from Labrae High School.
He joined the U.S. Navy and was trained as a boiler operator. He spent eight years in the Navy, traveling around the world three times, where he eventually met the love of his life Sharon.
After leaving the service he moved back to the area.
He worked as a boiler operator/maintenance man at Bristol Schools and eventually worked for King Collision.
Robert loved to golf, watching the Browns, read Clive Cussler books and most of all, spending time with his grandkids.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years, Sharon A. McFarland of Newton Falls, Ohio; son, Kevin L. McFarland of Warren, Ohio; daughters, Jessica L. Witt and Tamara G. (Randy) Smithberger both of Newton Falls, Ohio; sisters, Chloeanne (Jim) Diegen of Newton Falls, Ohio, Cindy (Steve) Park of Leavittsburg, Ohio and Barbara (Joe) Ruggieri of Warren, Ohio; six grandchildren, Mason, Mariah, Nicholas, Sidney, Mckenzie and Hunter; several nieces and nephews; as well as his parents, Raymond and Rose McFarland of Newton Falls.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Jim Dittmar will officiate.
Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the funeral home prior to services.
