YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Deborah E Spragling, will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Spragling departed this life on Sunday, October 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center.
Deborah was born August 4, 1951 in Youngstown, a daughter of Alfred and Alice Wilson and Horton.
She was a 1969 graduate of The Rayen School and was formerly employed as a dietary manager with Glenellen Senior Suites.
She was an active member of the church where she devoted her time to the Pastor’s Anniversary Committee and she often served as a member of the Culinary Ministry.
She enjoyed participating in various bingo functions and her loving and kind spirit will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Jesse Spragling, whom she married August 29, 1970; her loving sons, Cory A. Spragling of Columbus, Anthony D. and Jesse Spragling, Jr. both of Youngstown; her sisters, Barbara A. Evans, Dorothy G. Horton both of Youngstown; her brother, Alford Horton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Antonia Spragling,
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 19 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at J. E. Washington Funeral Home and Friday, October 20 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church prior to the service.
