LYNCHBURG, Virginia (Formerly Newton Falls, Ohio) – Philip E. Partin, age 80, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
Mr. Partin was born on April 13, 1937 in Frakes, Kentucky and is a former resident of Newton Falls, Ohio. He was the youngest son of the late George Partin and Maggie (Hatfield) Partin.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn L. (Chicko) Partin whom he married on November 10, 1956; two sons, Mark and Renita Partin of Dallas, Texas and Dr. Alan and Vicky Partin of Baltimore, Maryland; two grandsons, David and Sara Partin of Baltimore and Michael and Abby Partin of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and one great-grandson, Andrew James Partin. Also surviving is a sister, Jean Allen of Newton Falls, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by one son, David Lee Partin; three brothers, Earl Partin of Frakes, Kentucky, Alfred Partin of Newton Falls, Ohio and Billie Partin of Alliance, Ohio and three sisters, Gladys McCulley of Dexter, Missouri, Myrtle Partin of Walled Lake, Michigan and Edith Partin of Frakes, Kentucky.
Mr. Partin was retired from various management positions with Rockwell International in Newton Falls, Ohio and Grenada, Mississippi. He was also retired from Magnetek and A.O. Smith Corporations having held Plant Manager positions in Williamstown, Kentucky, Athens, Alabama, Blytheville, Arkansas, Taiwan ROC, Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Mendenhall, Mississippi and most recent in Altavista, Virginia.
He was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg, VA.
Visitation will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with funeral services to immediately follow at the funeral home.
Philip will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Newton Falls.
