BOARDMAN, Ohio – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Dorothy Margaret Lavorini, 88, who passed away Thursday morning, October 19 at Hampton Woods.
Dorothy was born March 8, 1929, in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Baehm) Rice, Sr.
Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Har Brack Union High School in Brackenridge.
She was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.
She was a member of St. Christine Church and the 5th Wheel Bowling League. The bowling team’s name was Gus’s Girls.
Dorothy enjoyed reading romance novels, playing the slot machines, watching game shows and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Her husband, Lido Lavorini, whom she married October 15, 1950, passed away November 4, 2000.
Dorothy leaves her children, Michael (Julene) Lavorini of North Jackson, Terry (Lisa) Lavorini of St. Clairsville, David Lavorini of Poland, James (Kathy) Lavorini of Poland, Robert Lavorini of Boardman and Susan Cotton of Las Vegas and her five grandchildren, Brain Lavorini, Victoria (Seth) Miller, Kayleigh Lavorini, Aaron Cotton and Cole Lavorini.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lavorini and a brother, Arthur Rice, Jr.
Family and friends may call on Monday, October 30 from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
