CAMPBELL, Ohio – Funeral services will be held Friday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, 301 Struthers-Liberty Road, Campbell, with the Very Rev. Andrew Nelko officiating, for Harold Zastany, 91 who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30 at Mercy Health, St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
Harold was born September 1, 1926 in Campbell, to John and Mary (Puk) Zastany and lived his entire life, excluding his military service, in Campbell.
Harold served in the Army and Army Air Corp during WWII.
Later, he retired from the City of Campbell Water Department.
He loved his church, fishing and was an avid YSU, OSU, Indians, Browns and Cavaliers fan.
Harold leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 47 years, the former Ann Crowl; sons, Robert (Joyce) of Gurnee, Illinois and John (Teresa) of Friendswood, Texas; three grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Rebecca and Mark and four great-grandchildren, Lukas, Erick, Cecilia and Aiden.
Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his son, Glenn; his brothers, John and Matthew Zastany and his sisters, Helen Fedor, Sally Kodis and Stephanie Hanson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Harold’s name.
The Zastany family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday morning, November 3 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery, immediately following the church services.
