GIRARD, Ohio – Mary Sandra Stoops, 77, died peacefully surrounded in love by her family on Friday, November 3, 2017.

“Sandy” was born on December 8, 1939, in Youngstown, the daughter of Robert and Helen Moran.

She graduated from Fitch High School and was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Heart church.

Sandy married the love of her life Paul Stoops on August 20, 1960.

A beautiful example of a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and most recently a great-grandmother, Sandy was amazing at making everyone around her feel special and loved. She never forgot a birthday, special occasion or important event and made sure we didn’t forget either. Sandy was dedicated to her family and friends. She loved her crafts and craft club. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved reading to them, acting out the characters in the books, making up her own stories, singing bedtime songs and playing endless games while sitting cross-legged on the floor.
Sandy was a courageous spirit, with a vibrant personality and witty sense of humor. Her philosophy was to live in the moment and work always at having a positive attitude, which she demonstrated throughout her life.

She leaves to cherish her memory her family and children, Karen (Stephen) Harrold, Deborah (Jeffrey) Filimon, Paul (Viki) Stoops, Stacy (Kurt) Latell and Sean (Heather) Stoops; grandchildren, Luke (Kara) Stouffer, Jacob (Saylee) Stouffer, Paul Anthony Latell, Isabella Latell, Trent Harrold, Audrey Filimon, Shane Stoops, Andrew Stoops and Vivian Stoops and her first great-grandchild, Kaycen Stouffer.
