AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – There will be a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown Chapel, for Shirley I. Potter, 82, of Austintown, whom died Thursday evening, November 9, 2017 at her residence.
Shirley was one of 16 children born to the late Joseph B. and Ethel M. (Harding) Hahn, Sr. and was a life long area resident.
Shirley attended Rayen High School and had worked for Packard Electric/Delphi for 31 years, retiring in 1999.
Shirley loved playing the lottery and going to casinos.
She leaves her two daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Raidel of Warren and Catherine “C.J.” (Terence) Fogg of Austintown; one son, Gene A. Potter, Jr. of Girard; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Shirley also leaves four sisters, Lois Wilson of California, Joan Patsy of Streetsboro, Carol (Bob) McCalment of Clermont, Florida and Sondra (Jack) Brace of Austintown; four brothers, Dean (Shirley) Hahn of Poland, David (Betty) Hahn of Cuyahoga Falls, Jack (Gloria) Hahn of Boardman and Norman (Julie) Hahn of Boardman and her beloved cat, Peanut.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Elzholz and six brothers, Earl, Robert, Billy, Warren, Joseph and an infant.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Friday, November 17 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the family.
A television tribute will air Tuesday, November 14 at the following approximate times:
6:41 a.m. WYTV and 8:41 a.m. MyYTV and 9:58 a.m. on FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
