HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania – Connie L. Walsh Masian of Hermitage, formerly of Stoneboro, died at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at home from cancer. She was 64.
Connie was born in Sharon on April 20, 1953 to John D. and Irene Hromyak Walsh.
She met her husband, Richard Dudley Masian, when both worked at the former John Schuster’s Steak House, Masury, Ohio. They married on October 4, 1975 at Sacred Heart Church. He died on March 10, 2010.
Connie graduated from Kennedy Christian High School in 1971. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in 1975 and her master’s in social work from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998.
She was employed as the Area Director for Catholic Charities Counseling and Adoption Services. She previously worked as a caseworker at Mercer County Children and Youth Services.
She was a member of the Church of the Notre Dame.
Connie believed we find what we seek. Look for the good! Connie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Irene Walsh, Hermitage, Pennsylvania; a daughter Nicole M. Masian, Johnson City, Tennessee and two sons, Michael D. Masian and Richard J. Masian, both of Virginia. Also surviving is a sister, Carol and Allan Stott, Maryland; two brothers, Jack and Diane Walsh, Wexford, Pennsylvania and Jim and Laura Walsh of Maryland and a brother-in-law, Ron Masian, Niles, Ohio.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Masian; her father, John D. Walsh; her father and mother-in-law, Stanley and Eleanor Masian and her sister-in-law, Patricia M. Masian.
The family wishes to thank her co-workers at CCCAS, the staff at UPMC Horizon Cancer Center and Heartland Hospice.

Calling hours will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State Street, Sharon.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, in the Church of the Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, as celebrant.
