POLAND, Ohio – Funeral services will be Monday, November, 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, for Marilyn E. Nepple, 82, who died Friday, November 17, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her daughter, Laurie Rossi and granddaughters, Marie and Sara Zambotti.
Marilyn was born July 28, 1935, in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles F. and Zelda (Cribbs) Veitch.
She was a 1953 graduate of Vandergrift High School, where she was a majorette. Marilyn was a member of the Vandergrift Thunderers Drum and Bugle Corps.
She was a secretary at U.S. Steel, Vandergrift location and Monroeville research lab, for many years until retiring.
Marilyn was an active member of The Vandergrift Business and Professional Women’s Club.
She was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Vandergrift, where she led the youth group for many years. After moving to the Poland area, she became a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman.
Marilyn’s husband, Jerry C. Nepple, whom she married January 28, 1956, died June 25, 2008.
She is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Frank) Rossi of Largo, Florida and Jane (Bruce) Bevilacqua of Murrysville, Pennsylvania. Marilyn is also survived by five grandchildren, Philip (Kristi) Mazero of Pittsburgh, Chad Mazero of Los Angeles, Alicia Rossi of Largo and Marie and Sara Zambotti of Pittsburgh and a great-grandson, Lucas Mazero of Pittsburgh.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Veitch and her stepgranddaughter, Danelle Rossi.
Family and friends may call on Monday, November 20 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
Burial will take place at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
