YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017, at F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., for Ms. Lu Ann Grant, 52, Youngstown, who departed this life on Sunday, November 19, 2017, in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Lu Ann was born May 9, 1965, in Youngstown, a daughter of William Walker and Ruth Grant.
Lu Ann was employed as a teacher for Head Start, a caregiver, a foster parent for Homes for Kids, Gateway to Better Living and H & R Block.
She was a Chaney High Graduate, attended Eastern Gateway, receiving her associate degree. She also attended YSU where she played basketball and volleyball.
She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, baseball, spending time with her family laughing and joking and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves her children and foster children, Damaris, Sr., Dexter, Sr., Quentin and William Grant, Jeremiah McClarin, Jeff and Jerrett Southerland, Marquell Armour, Aaliyah Boothe, Angel Rivers and Coreighai White, all of Youngstown, Betty McClarin, in Cleveland and Latrice Elhady of Sharon, Pennsylvania; siblings, Richard (Deborah) Lively, Lisa (Louis) Jones, Wanda, Faith, Tony Grant and Sandra Wright; grandchildren, Tamea Stonework, Dexter, Jr., Amaris, Dextiny, Tamaris, Lamaris, Damaris, Jr. and Mason Grant.
Lu Ann is preceded in death by her sisters, Lorna Boothe and Charlene Lively and brothers, Brian Lively, Danny Walker and Timothy Grant.
Friends may call from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home prior to services.
