SHARON, Pennsylvania – Madeline M. Callahan, of Sharon passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Juniper Village in Sharon, after an extended illness, she was 99.
Madeline was born in New Mine, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Domenico and Marietta E. (Buccicone) DiNardo.
She graduated from Sharon High School in 1937.
She was a 50 plus year member of Covenant Presbyterian Church Sharon, where she was a charter member of the Couplers Sunday School class and had attended the Senior Fellowship group.
Madeline had worked as a clerk at the former Valley View Department Store in Brookfield for ten years, retiring in 1979. Previously, she had worked at the former Sharon store for 20 years.
Madeline enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her husband and friends.
She was the widow of William G. Callahan, whom she married on August 28, 1940. He died on November 8, 2000.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Callahan Misko and her husband, Thomas of Hermitage; her son, William Donald Callahan of Xalapa, VeraCruz, Mexico and her grandchildren, Parker, Ella and Nolan Misko.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Veronica Clary and her brothers, Amedeo “DiDi” DiNardo, Theodore, Raymond and Romolo DiNardo.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, November 27 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St. in Sharon.
Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home in Sharon at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, with Rev. Adam T. Trambley officiating.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Hermitage.
