BROOKFIELD, Ohio – Timothy J. “Tim” Knechtel, of Brookfield, Ohio, formerly of New Wilmington, died unexpectedly at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 57.
Tim was born June 16, 1960, in Grove City, a son of Raymond Knechtel and Mary (Poole) Knechtel.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Tim was employed by CBS Cemetery Company in Hermitage as a truck driver for four years.
Tim enjoyed woodworking, drawing and was a Jack of all trades. He loved game night with all his friends and loved hosting holiday parties for family and friends. He treated his friends like family and was always there to help. Tim was a grill master and the life of the party! He had a big heart, loved life and lived it to the fullest.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon.
Surviving are his wife, Rosemary (Piccirilli) Knechtel, whom he married April 10, 1992. She survives at home. Also surviving are two daughters, Cassandra Holler and her husband, Adam, of West Middlesex and Kristina Knechtel of Farrell; three sons, Timothy Knechtel, Jr. of West Virginia, Jerald Knechtel of New Wilmington and Dakota Knechtel of West Middlesex; a sister, Lela Glancy of North Carolina and two brothers, Ted Knechtel and his wife, Diane, of Sandy Lake and Ken Knechtel and his wife, Joni, of Mercer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26 at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2630 E. State Street, Hermitage.
Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26 following calling hours in the funeral home chapel, with the Revs. Michael Lozano and William Knechtel officiating.
