BOARDMAN, Ohio – A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Andrew Berroteran, 86, who died Monday, January 1 at Hospice House surrounded by his family.
Family and friends may call for one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Andrew was born March 31, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of Migel and Andrea (Rembao) Berroteran.
He was a 1949 graduate of The Rayen School.
Andrew was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country in combat during the Korean War.
Andrew worked as a roller for U.S. Steel and for the Mahoning County Engineers office for ten years until moving to Phoenix, where he worked for Intertal Corporation.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church and their Men’s Club and the Mahoning County Engineers golf league.
Andrew is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Luther, whom he married April 21, 1956; his son, Byron (Renea) Berroteran of Avon Lake; his granddaughter, Hailey Berroteran and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Michael and Joseph Berroteran and sister Maria Daniels.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
