SHARPSVILLE, Ohio – Anthony Joseph Erme, Sr., 82, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Sharon Regional Health System.
Anthony was born on August 12, 1935, to Michael and Mary (O’Brine) Erme in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from Sharpsville High School class of 1953 and attended Slippery Rock University.
Anthony worked, most recently, as a delivery driver for Hovis Supply.
In 1951, he married his wife, Mary (Dehner) Erme, who survives at home.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania.
Anthony enjoyed golfing and was an avid supporter of Notre Dame athletics and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Debbie (James) Cotter, Sr., Cindy (William) Caputo, Laurie (Charlie) Bowser and Linda (Ralph) Thomas; sons, Anthony J. Erme, Jr. and James M (Yulia) Erme, Sr.; 14 grandchildren, Marc, Tiffany, Jimmy, Lonnie, Patrick, Jennifer, William, Nathan, Jeanette, Jim, Josephina, Ian, Heather and Quinn. He is known affectionately as “Papa-T” to his 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Erme; mother, Mary Erme; sister, Jean and brothers, Mike, Bill and Frank.
Friends may call Friday, January 5 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 124 Main Street, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5 at 3:00 p.m. in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania with Father Matthew Strickenberger, officiating.
