YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Mrs. Eloise Dennis will be held Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 p.m. at J.E. Washington Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dennis departed this life Wednesday, January 3, 2018 with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Dennis was born January 15, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama, a daughter of Essie Lee Scott.
She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time in her garden, fishing and entertaining with her family and friends.
She was a faithful member of Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Brenda (Christopher) Moses, Darlene Wilson, Glenda Walton all of Youngstown, Ohio, Junior (Deborah) Dennis of Queen Creek, Arizona, Joseph (Diane) Hendricks and Johnnie C. Hendricks all of Birmingham, Alabama and Robert E Dennis of Youngstown; her sisters, Viola (Arthur) Evans of Detroit, Michigan, Essie Scott of Birmingham, Alabama and Ann Echols of Cleveland; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Junior C. Dennis whom she married January 15, 1955 and he passed away in 2009; her brothers, Suge, Johnnie, Wayne, Don and Issac Scott; her sisters, Velma Scott Tullis, Jetta Scott and her grandson, Christopher Moses II.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 9 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the J.E. Washington Funeral Home prior to services.
A television tribute will air Monday, January 8 at the following approximate times:
6:41 a.m. WYTV and 8:41 a.m. MyYTV and 9:58 a.m. on FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
