WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police in Warren are investigating the murder of a missing man, found dead in his car at the Trumbull Homes.

Police were sent to the parking lot on N. Feederle Drive in the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority homes just after 1 p.m.

There, they found 35-year-old Darrin Andrews, of Youngstown, dead inside of his car. He had been shot multiple times.

He had been reported missing after leaving the hospital. His family, who said they hadn’t heard from him since Sunday, told police that he has had brief episodes of fainting spells, according to a police report.

Investigators say they were able to track Andrews’ vehicle through a GPS device installed by the car’s financing company.

“The way I understand it is, if the payment wasn’t made during that month, they would kick on the GPS. If they had to go and repossess the vehicle, they would know the location of it. Well, just so happens that they hadn’t paid the bill so that GPS kicked on and that’s how we located the vehicle,”

Investigators are currently tracking down leads in the case. No arrests have been made.
